1 cups dry oats                                  1/2 cup wheat germ               

 1/23/ cups yogurt                               2tsp baking powder

2tbsp. honey                                          1/12 cups rice bran

1/4 cup olive or canola oil                   3/4 cup chopped walnuts

1 egg

2/3 cups raisins

Soak oats in the yogurt for about 25 minutes. Add honey, oil and egg to the oat mixture. Blend well either by spoon or with electric mixer. Add the dry ingredients and blend well. Fold in the raisins and the chopped nuts.

Fill lightly greased muffin tins about 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes or until firm on top. Makes about 12 muffins.

Note: Rice bran and whole wheat pastry flour can be purchased in stores selling bulk foods or in health food stores. They should taste sweet when fresh.
